In the psychotherapy field I am what is known as a Jungian analyst, or analytical psychologist. It's hard to explain what this means in a sentence, but for me it means I approach a person's psyche with a deep respect for the totality of the unconscious.
I offer a confidential setting in which we meet for weekly scheduled 50 minute sessions. The aim is to bring about a greater degree of self understanding and deepened emotional awareness. You are free to reflect on whatever is uppermost in mind; feelings, thoughts, wishes, fears, memories and dreams can be explored.
A regular commitment of time enables the psychotherapy process to take place, and it can vary from a single consultation, to several weeks, months or even years. The process is sometimes gradual and open ended, so it should not be regarded from the outset as quick, and by implication requires financial and emotional investment.
We meet for an initial consultation so that you can tell me about what's upsetting you. There is no requirement at this stage to commit to further sessions, however it may take a few meetings to decide whether we feel we can work together. All sessions, including an initial consultation, are charged at my current rate. I review fees from time to time, and usually increase them in January each year.
